Educational & Technical Eligibility Standards
- Assistant Loco Pilot (ALP):
- Matriculation (10th Pass) + ITI in approved NCVT/SCVT Trades: (Fitter, Electrician, Instrument Mechanic, Millwright/Maintenance Mechanic, Mechanic Radio & TV, Electronics Mechanic, Mechanic Motor Vehicle, Wireman, Tractor Mechanic, Armature & Coil Winder, Mechanic Diesel, Heat Engine, Turner, Machinist, Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Mechanic)
- - OR 3-Year Diploma in Mechanical / Electrical / Electronics / Automobile Engineering from an AICTE-recognized polytechnic.
- - OR B.Tech / B.E in Engineering streams.
- - Medical Fitness: Must strictly fulfill A-1 Medical Standard (Distant Vision: 6/6, 6/6 without glasses with fogging test; Near Vision: Sn: 0.6, 0.6 without glasses; Must pass Color Vision, Binocular Vision, Field of Vision, and Night Vision tests).
- Technician Grade-III:
- Matriculation / SSLC + ITI in relevant trade OR 10+2 with Physics and Mathematics (for Technician Gr-III Telecommunication & Signal).
Selection Process & Multi-Tier Examination Architecture
- First Stage CBT (CBT-1): Screening test (75 Questions | 75 Marks | 60 Minutes) — Math 20, Reasoning 25, General Science 20, General Awareness 10.
- Second Stage CBT (CBT-2):
- Part-A (100 Questions | 100 Marks | 90 Minutes): Math 25, Reasoning 25, Basic Science & Engineering 40, Current Affairs 10. (Marks in Part-A determine the shortlisting for CBAT and final merit list).
- - Part-B (75 Questions | 75 Marks | 60 Minutes): Qualifying technical trade test from DGET prescribed trade syllabus. Minimum 35% required.
- Computer Based Aptitude Test (CBAT - Only for ALP):
- Battery of 5 sub-tests evaluating reaction time, depth perception, spatial memory, and perceptual speed. Must score minimum 42 T-score in each battery test.
- Document Verification (DV) & Comprehensive Medical Examination.
